About QMS

The Quality Meat Scotland website is a unique source of information on all aspects of the Scottish red meat industry. It offers something for the industry, its customers and consumers.
Scotland’s beef, lamb and pork industries make an important contribution to the country’s rural economy contributing over £1500m to the annual GDP of Scotland and supporting in excess of 30,000 jobs in the farming, agricultural supply and processing sectors. It plays a leading role in Scotland’s important food & drink sector. Our industry, which has its origins in hundreds of years of tradition, prides itself on meeting the high standards of today’s modern consumers, at home and abroad.
Farmers and processors will be able to access a range of business information - from the latest analysis of industry trends and R&D activities in the Industry Info site, to the constantly updated prices from Scotland’s markets and processors in the Market Prices & News section.
QMS promotional campaigns on behalf of the industry are the focus for the Marketing section and are aimed at potential buyers and interested consumers. Our Healthy Eating section, a developing area for QMS, focuses on our work in explaining the position of red meat as part of a balanced diet in Scotland.
The Exports section is designed with international markets in mind and promotes the taste and quality of Scotch meat to a global audience.
The QMS Schemes sites support our Membership schemes, Consumer Assurance schemes, Scotch Beef Club and Scotch Butchers Club. They explain the benefits of joining and also offer downloadable copies of the different sets of requirements Standards. Using a password, members can quickly identify Assured companies to meet their business needs.
The dedicated Processors section of Industry Intelligence is under construction and will contain a detailed list of UK meat manufacturering and food service companies, which can be accessed by our Scottish processors.

Finding the QMS Office
Directions from West and North Follow signposts to Edinburgh Airport. After leaving Newbridge roundabout, look out for Hallyards Road on left (just before Royal Highland Showground). Turn into Hallyards Road and proceed to car park. When returning your are advised to return to A8, turn left then proceed towards the underpass at Eastfield Road where you can join the west bound A8.
Directions from Edinburgh and South Follow signposts to Edinburgh Airport. Leave Eastfield Road into Fairview Road. At junction turn right then follow perimeter road round the Royal Highland Showground turning left into car park. When returning either reverse the route or turn left out of car park then left on A8.
