Scotch Beef dish to spice up Valentine’s Day

QMS is helping Scots beat the cold snap and turn the heat up this Valentine’s Day with a recipe guaranteed to make your night sizzle.

Containing a potent mixture of ingredients traditionally famed for their libido and fertility boosting properties our Chilli Hot Scotch Beef could be the recipe for success on Saturday.

The dish is simple enough for even the most pan-phobic to rustle up for a romantic evening in with a significant other, and saves you having to brave the cold.

ASDA Launches Scotch beef on Butchers counters

11th February 2009

All of the serviced butcher counters in ASDA stores in England and Scotland are set to sell and be branded with a range of Scotch Beef this month.

The move, which will see 23 of the supermarket’s full service butcher counters donning distinctive blue branding, presenting a high quality product backed up with high quality service.

QMS tunes-in to young consumers

Scotch Lamb is tuning-in to younger consumers with the launch of a new radio campaign this month.

Picking up on a growing trend amongst young consumers towards eating lamb, the Scotch Lamb It’s Easy campaign will be broadcasting on major metropolitan radio stations and will give budding gourmets the chance to cook with Nick Nairn.

The adverts focus on just how easy Scotch Lamb is to cook and how delicious it is. Listeners also have the opportunity to win a night in a luxury hotel as well as a day at Nick Nairn’s cook school.

Loyal customers make Christmas crackle, not crunch.

Maintaining a loyal customer base of credit crunch resistant shoppers has made Christmas a busy time for members of the Scotch Butchers Club.

An informal poll of Scotch Butchers Club members showed that they had had solid Christmas trade, with many high profile members posting sales increases during the festive period.

Maintaining a loyal customer base, offering continuity of personal service and attracting new ‘foodie’ customers may have been key to keeping sales strong for the independents.

QMS teams up to offer tasty resolution

Quality Meat Scotland is making it easier for people to stick to their new year’s resolution to get healthy by collaborating with Scottish Slimmers.

QMS is sponsoring a Scottish Slimmers promotion highlighting that you can eat red meat as part of a healthy diet, as well as a weight loss plan.

Pig health initiative underway in Scotland

A further project funded by the Scottish Government to offer long- term support for Scotland's pig sector is underway.

Quality Meat Scotland, the red meat industry promotion and development body, is coordinating the appointment of a Pig Veterinary Adviser who will work with the industry and national organisations to achieve and maintain a high health status for the Scottish pig herd.

Top Food Student Goes Back To School

An eighteen year old pupil from Eastwood High School, East Renfrewshire has been awarded the prestigious Top Home Economics Student in Scotland prize by Quality Meat Scotland, the red meat industry promotion body.
