I am the link between the direction set by the Board and the implementation of its strategies by making sure the executive team delivers the activities necessary for QMS to successfully achieve its remit.

My role involves leading on the planning, delivery and evaluation of all marketing and communications activities and wider corporate and industry communications, undertaken by the Marketing & Comms team.  My remit also covers QMS's health & education activity and communicating the work of our industry development and economic services teams. Issues management is another key aspect of the role.

As a registered dietitian, I am responsible for many of the nutrition and health related issues concerning QMS and the red meat industry. Much of my time is spent visiting schools, educating pupils about eating red meat as part of a healthy balanced diet. I also work with the teams in QMS on projects with a nutrition or health focus.

I am responsible for delivering education to pupils about eating red meat as part of a healthy, balanced diet.  I work closely with our partners to ensure that the key red meat messages about health and the environment are communicated throughout the food education network. I previously worked as a Project Coordinator with the Royal Highland Education Trust (RHET) and work on our family hill farm in Perthshire.

I am currently seconded to the Market Intelligence and External Affairs team with support for research and analysis in their delivery of key position papers and projects.

It is my job to ensure that the market prices and graphs on the QMS website are maintained. I also update our price and supply datasets and use this information to write market reports on a weekly and monthly basis. In addition, I support other members of the QMS team and external stakeholders with market information and analysis.  Each year I produce the Red Meat Industry Profile.
